Holiday Houses in Dyo Choria, Tinos

The plane-tree square, the spring-fed fountains — and one emerald-green front door two minutes away.

Dyo Choria sits at around 380 metres on the slopes of Kechrovouni, gathered around what may be the loveliest village square on Tinos: plane trees, spring-fed marble fountains, and a view that falls all the way to Mykonos, Delos and Syros. If you are looking for accommodation in Dyo Choria, our Emerald View House One is two minutes on foot from that square — and we renovated it ourselves, stone by stone.

This is the quieter of our two villages: mornings are church bells and café chatter, evenings are the square filling slowly while the Aegean goes gold below.

Why stay in Dyo Choria

The village is compact, walkable and blissfully unhurried. Dio Choria Taverna on the square serves whatever was cooked that morning, two minutes from our door; the marble lanes wind between whitewashed houses and carved fanlights; and the Kechrovouni Monastery — one of the island’s great sights — is just up the ridge.

The port and Chora are fifteen minutes by car, Triantaros a walk along the ridge. For how the villages compare with staying in town, see our guide on where to stay in Tinos.

Our house on the square’s doorstep

Emerald View House One sleeps four in two bedrooms, with a balcony guests call amazing and a sea-and-village view we never tire of. It is listed on Airbnb with full calendar and verified reviews (★ 4.96, Guest Favourite), or message us directly for our best rate. Three more of our houses are a ridge-walk away in Triantaros.

Getting here & getting around

The port is about 8.5 km — fifteen minutes by car — with free parking near the house. The lanes are stepped marble, so pack light; we help with luggage on arrival. A car is recommended for beaches and village-hopping: the south coast is a short drive, and the day’s wind decides the beach — ask us which.

Around the village

Walkers are spoiled: the ridge loop through Arnados and the Kechrovouni Monastery starts at the square — our Tinos hiking guide maps it. The marble hamlets of Kardiani and Ktikados are an easy drive, the vineyards 15–20 minutes for a tasting, and the village table is best explored with our guide to eating on Tinos.
