Where to Stay in Tinos
The port is convenient, but the villages are the magic. Here is where to base yourself — from a host who lives here.
The villages beat the town
Most visitors default to Tinos Town (Chora), but the island's soul is in its mountain villages — marble lanes, plane-tree squares and sea views, minus the crowds. For the authentic Tinos, base yourself in a village.
Dyo Choria & Triantaros — the balcony villages
On the slopes of Kechrovouni at about 380 m, Dyo Choria and Triantaros look out over Mykonos, Delos and Syros. Quiet, walkable and full of tavernas — and where all four Magna Lux houses are. A car is handy; the rest you do on foot.
Tinos without the Mykonos crowds
Tinos is 30 minutes by ferry from Mykonos but a world apart — wilder, more authentic and far better value. Cycladic beauty and superb food, without the all-night noise.
